GeekBase Technology is now an ISO 9001:2015 certified company. Our quality management system has been independently assessed, under certificate number E20260851112, with the status currently active.

Certifications are easy to put in a footer and hard to explain. So rather than just announcing it, this post covers what ISO 9001:2015 actually is, what we had to demonstrate to earn it, what changes in practice for the businesses and colleges who work with us — and what it honestly does not mean.

What ISO 9001:2015 actually is

ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for a quality management system — abbreviated QMS. The important word is system. The standard does not inspect a particular website we built or grade a specific training batch. It examines the way an organisation plans, delivers, checks and improves its work, and whether that way is documented, followed consistently and reviewed.

In plain terms, it answers a question every buyer quietly has: “If the person I'm talking to leaves, does this company still deliver the same way?” A certified QMS means the process lives in documentation and records, not in one employee's head.

What we had to demonstrate

Certification is an assessment against the clauses of the standard. The areas that took the most work for us were:

• Documented processes — a written, repeatable path for how a project or a training batch runs, from first enquiry to sign-off.
• Defined responsibilities — who owns delivery, who reviews quality, and who signs off, named by role rather than by convenience.
• Records — evidence that the process was actually followed, not just written down. Scope documents, review notes, attendance and assessment records, sign-offs.
• Corrective action — when something goes wrong, a defined route to find the cause and prevent recurrence, instead of a quiet patch and a hope.
• Internal audits and management review — checking ourselves on a schedule, and acting on what the checks find.
• Continual improvement — measurable objectives, reviewed regularly, with changes traceable back to evidence.

What changes if you're a business hiring us

Most of this you would experience as a client whether or not it had a certificate attached — the certification is what makes it consistent and auditable rather than dependent on the project.

• A written scope before work starts. Fixed deliverables and a milestone plan, so cost and timeline do not drift halfway through.
• Change handled explicitly. When a requirement changes mid-project — and it usually does — the change, its impact on the timeline and its cost are recorded and agreed, not absorbed silently and resented later.
• Defects tracked to closure. Reported issues are logged, prioritised and closed against a record, rather than lost in a chat thread.
• Handover you can use. Source code, documentation and deployment details transferred as a defined step, so your next developer is not archaeology-hunting.

What changes if you're a college

For campus training, placement programs and workshops, the same discipline shows up as paperwork that departments genuinely need at audit and accreditation time:

• A documented syllabus and session plan agreed before the batch starts.
• Attendance and assessment records for every session, exportable for your own reporting.
• Trainer qualification records, so you know who is standing in front of your students.
• Structured student feedback collected at the end of a program, reviewed, and fed into the next one.

What ISO 9001:2015 does not mean

This part matters as much as the rest, and plenty of certified companies leave it out.

ISO 9001:2015 is not a product quality guarantee. It does not certify that any particular piece of software we ship is free of bugs, that a campaign will hit a specific number, or that a student will be placed. It certifies that we run a documented, reviewed system for delivering and improving our work.

It is also not a ranking or a competitive award. Any organisation that builds a conforming quality management system and passes assessment can hold it. It is a floor, not a trophy — and it says nothing about price. Treat any vendor who waves a certificate as proof that their work is automatically better, or automatically worth more, with the scepticism that deserves.
